"Philanthropy is more than giving money – it includes service, and that’s what ultimately builds a community. I think of philanthropy as helping other people."
"The Ph.D. in Philanthropic Studies at the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University trains individuals who have passion – a passion to help others, a passion to lean more about the field of philanthropy and teach those concepts to others. I don’t think there’s any better way to take care of those individuals than through scholarships. When you give to the Center on Philanthropy, you’re helping the university to train a new generation of scholars. Later on, those students will be able to give back to the university as well."
