The Only School of Its Kind
The Fund Raising School helps thousands of fundraising professionals per year around the world achieve new levels of success. At the School, we teach the historical and philanthropic context, the current issues, and the art and science of fundraising and philanthropy. You gain the knowledge needed to build your organization’s resources with confidence and success in an ever-changing society.

The Fund Raising School is the only international fundraising education program housed within a university. We combine cutting-edge practice with scientific research in developing our curriculum. Such research includes:

  • Giving USA, an annual publication of the Giving USA Foundation, researched and written at the Center, that analyzes giving throughout the United States on a yearly basis.
  • Center on Philanthropy Panel Study: Survey of giving and volunteering in approximately 7,500 families that have been surveyed since 1968 in the University of Michigan’s Panel Study of Income Dynamics.
  • Philanthropic Giving Index: Semi-annual survey of current trends and future expectations for the climate for fundraising in America. Reports posted twice a year (summer and December) at http://www.philanthropy.iupui.edu/announce.html#PGI.
  • Million Dollar List: Listing of publicly anounced donations of $1 million or more. Report posted quarterly at http://www.philanthropy.iupui.edu/announce.html#million.

What Participants Say...

"I must say that experiencing the course exceeded my expectations. I now have the knowledge and tools to take our agency to the next level in support of our mission."

Rev. Elliot M. Smith
Vice President for Development, Presbyterian Children's Homes and Services (Austin, TX)

Meet Our Donors

Michael Perigo

"Without philanthropy, our human community is simply a collection of individual parts. Philanthropy ensures that not only do these individual parts receive what they need to thrive and grow, but it also connects these individual parts in unique ways that help the entire human community grow and develop in ways that are positive and good."
