Why Train at the School of Philanthropy?

Training Scholarships

The IU Lilly Family School of Philanthropy offers some scholarship assistance for eligible participants interested in the following courses by The Fund Raising School:

  • Principles & Techniques of Fundraising
  • Developing Major Gifts
  • Planned Giving: Getting the Proper Start
  • Developing Annual Sustainability
  • Managing the Capital Campaign
  • Interpersonal Communication for Fundraising

**Current scholarship opportunities available are for groups of two or more from the same 501c3 organization who attend the same course together as a team.  No scholarship funds are available for individual attendees at this time.**

The Hank Rosso Scholarship

The Hank Rosso Scholarship is a partial tuition scholarship for a team of two or more nonprofit professionals and/or volunteers from small nonprofit organization with operating budgets of $3 million or less to attend a class together and emphasize the importance of team work and collaboration between staff and volunteers.

Required criteria for applicants:

  • At least two registered course participants (paid staff or volunteer) in one course
  • Organizational budget of $3 million or less

How to Apply for Any Scholarship

  • Verify that you meet all the criteria for one of the scholarships. Applicants are limited to one scholarship award per course.
  • Apply at least 3 weeks before the class start date.
  • Email the following information to tfrs@iupui.edu or fax it to 317-684-8939;
  1. A one or two page letter requesting scholarship assistance and stating how you meet the scholarship criteria and why assistance is necessary and important. Please be sure to indicate the course name, date and location you wish to attend.
     
  2. A copy of your organization’s operating budget.
     
  3. Proof of your organization's 501c3 status.
