Programs

The Women’s Philanthropy Institute uses research-based evidence to challenge assumptions, change attitudes, and transform behaviors about women and philanthropy.  Strategic initiatives to build awareness about women’s increasing power and possibility for philanthropy in the 21st century include:

  • National conferences
  • Partnerships
  • Regional conferences
  • Shaw-Hardy Taylor Achievement Award

National conferences

The two-day conferences explore how women lead and give through philanthropy locally, nationally, and globally.  This signature program to increase the understanding of philanthropy and to improve its practice features outstanding speakers, high-level conversations, and ample opportunity for give-and-take discussions.  The next symposium is scheduled for 2014.

Partnerships to Build the Movement

The Institute’s partners with CASE, the Council for Advancement and Support of Education, to present periodic conferences and online training about aspects of women and philanthropy.

The Power of Women’s Philanthropy Programs—Optimizing Your Donor Base
Our most recent conference in the fall of 2012 about how to optimize your donor base by engaging women in your fundraising strategies.

Regional Conferences

Regional conferences are designed to inform and inspire female donors who seek to understand their personal experiences in context of the broader women’s philanthropy landscape.  The conferences will provide a safe, neutral setting to learn about philanthropy, network, and share experiences. Contact WPI to coordinate a conference in your area.
