The NACC Biennial conference brings together academics, scholars, practitioners, and administrators from around the world to discuss, learn, and share tactics and methods that support and build university-based educational programs focused on nonprofit and philanthropic studies.

Starting this past summer Dr. Sara Konrath began serving in an editorial capacity for two journals. The first is as a consulting editor for the highly ranked American Psychological Association journal, Emotion.
The second editorial role is with Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector Quarterly (NVSQ) which will allow Dr. Konrath to make decisions that help to shape the field of philanthropic studies, and in particular, the quantitative aspects of it.
Karl Besel will facilitate a panel at the October NASPAA Conference (with Dr. Charlotte Lewellen-Williams, Clinton School of Public Service) entitled “Passing the Torch: Planning for the Next Generation of Leaders in Public Service.” This panel will present the main findings of thieir book, Passing the Torch. The “profiles” that were compiled on what motivated successful public service executives, as well as their insights on succession planning, serves as a primary vehicle for developing best practice strategies for recruiting and mentoring new leaders within this growing and dynamic field.
