Our Theme
“Blooming Philanthropists: A Change is Gonna Come” is the theme we have chosen for our capstone showcase. We are the flowers blooming in Spring that represent new beginnings and transitions. We remain hopeful for positive change in a world that is experiencing a pivotal moment in history.
We identify with the words of Sam Cooke as he sings about his hope for the future in A Change is Gonna Come. Written during the Civil Rights movement, this song continues to be an anthem encouraging each generation to keep striving for progress. It has been a long time coming, but we know that change is gonna come; change that is transformative and empowers rather than diminishes.
As we undergo change and blossom into philanthropists, we are ready to champion the change that is gonna come.

Myah Bales
Hello! My name is Myah Bales and I will be graduating in December of 2022 with my BA in Philanthropic Studies. Following graduation, I plan to pursue my Master’s Degree in Philanthropic Studies and aspire to work in environmental conservation, sustainability, or animal welfare. I hope to use my skills in communication and fundraising to continue expanding my experience in the nonprofit sector.
Mary Bradley
Hello! My name is Mary Bradley. In December 2022 I will be graduating with my B.A. in Philanthropic Studies from the IU Lilly Family School of Philanthropy. When I was younger, I was involved in a few nonprofits and that is what led me down this path. I want to continue working in a youth serving organization and making impact on their lives. I want to inspire them the same way I was inspired. Even the smallest bud can blossom into a vibrant flower.

Lamin Conteh
I am a proactive student currently at Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis pursuing a BA in Philanthropic Studies, with a minor in Military Leadership. My projected graduation date is May 2022. While in college, I have gained leadership and project management experience through my time in the military and civilian work.
Reiya Davis
Hello, my name is Reiya Davis and this December I will be graduating with my B.A in Philanthropic Studies. Before graduation, I hope to earn my Fundraising Certificate at the LFSOP and after graduation, I plan to continue working for the Central Indiana Community Foundation as an associate to their effective philanthropy team. Overall I just hope to continue effecting change in areas I’m passionate about, whether that is here locally or elsewhere in the future. I hope you enjoy learning more about my journey!
Ashlyn Devine
Hello! I’m Ashlyn Devine. In May of 2022, I will graduate with my BA in Philanthropic Studies and a minor in Political Science. Upon graduation, I plan to continue my passion for education and philanthropy by pursuing by Master’s Degree in Philanthropic Studies. I hope to explore in greater depth both the complex nature of the sector and the role of public policy and advocacy efforts in supporting systematic change. During my time obtaining a Master’s Degree, I would like to be employed part-time by a nonprofit working in the Indianapolis community. Once I have completed my studies, I would love to work at an organization involved in capacity-building, grassroots efforts, advocacy, or other community engagement. Courtney Gamage
Hello! My name is Courtney Gamage. This May, I will be graduating from the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy with a Bachelors in Philanthropic Studies and certificates in Fundraising for Nonprofits and Nonprofit Management. After graduation I plan to stay in Indianapolis to continue my philanthropic work. I look forward to giving back to my community and contributing to society in my future career, integrating my passion for children, women, or animals. I hope that you will spend some time looking through my ePortfolio and seeing the skills I have developed that have prepared me for a role as a professional in the field of Philanthropy.
Sierra Gilson
Upon graduating with a degree in philanthropic studies and a minor in civic leadership, I plan to stay close and work in the Indianapolis area. I have a passion for human services along with advocating for affordable healthcare. I am excited about this next chapter, and I hope to continue in a career path that challenges me and allows me to carry the knowledge I have gained at the IU Lilly Family School of Philanthropy into my future.
Madison Hanna
Thank you for taking the time to view our Capstone Showcase! My name is Madison Hanna, I am thrilled to be graduating from LFSOP this May. I am proud to have earned my Philanthropic Studies
degree with a minor in sociology. My ePortfolio is a visual representation of the experiences that have shaped me over the past four years and shows you a glimpse into my plans for the future. Lucy Hauser
My name is Lucy Hauser, and I am a senior at IUPUI studying Philanthropic Studies (B.A.) and History (MIN). During my time at IUPUI, I served as President of the Philanthropy Ambassadors Club for the 2021-2022 academic year, held several internships at local nonprofits, and worked directly with Lilly Family School of Philanthropy faculty as a Student Research Assistant. Following graduation, I will attend Queen's University Belfast in the fall to receive an MA in Social Justice & Conflict Transformation.
Baylee Kasprzak
Hello! My name is Baylee Kasprzak. The last four years feel like they have flown by, but I can proudly say I am graduating from the IU Lilly Family School of Philanthropy with my Bachelor’s in Philanthropic Studies and a certificate in Philanthropic Fundraising. Following graduation, I will step into the role of Admissions and Academic Coordinator for LFSOP full-time. My ePortfolio is full of information about me and the time I have spent at IUPUI.
