Are you an alumni looking for a way to get involved with the IU Lilly Family School of Philanthropy? We offer numerous ways for our alumni to volunteer and remain connected to the school.

How can you get involved?
- Student support
- Connect students to your professional and personal network
- Students, especially those nearing graduation, may have a particular cause or geographic location they plan to pursue. You can help identify individuals in your network that you would be willing introduce or recommend they reach out.
- Conduct mock or informational interviews
- You can do this in person or remotely from your couch. Informational interviews especially help our students define their career interests.
- Review a student’s résumé
- An extra eye always helps, especially those in the field and with experience hiring.
- Be a class or workshop presenter or panelist at the school
- Faculty and staff occasionally need individuals to speak to a formal class or student group on specific topics
- Host an intern or graduate assistant
- Every student is required to complete an internship while in the degree program. Partnering with alumni and their organizations adds an extra dimension to this experience for students, while providing talent to enhance the work of your organization.
- Post to the job board
- Send job openings from my organization or community connections to share with students
- Serve as a mentor to an undergraduate student
- Use your school and career experience to offer encouragement and advice to a philanthropic studies undergraduate student.
- Connect students to your professional and personal network
- Help the school recruit
- Recruit The Fund Raising School participants for the degree program
- Host an opening night dinner gathering of The Fund Raising School course participants in your city. An opening night dinner offers participants a way to build camaraderie, as well as an opportunity to share—or show—in greater detail what furthering their education through a degree means. Dozens of opportunities around the country occur annually.
- Become a Lilly Family School of Philanthropy ambassador
- Share information about the school at a conference or workshop where you will speak. We’ll provide materials if you think it will help.
- Join the Admission Brigade
- Call and/or email prospective and recently admitted students; encourage their application or enrollment, plus answer questions
- Recruit The Fund Raising School participants for the degree program
- Alumni relations
- Post to the job board
- Send job openings from my organization or community connections; share in LinkedIn group
- Welcome team
- Assist alumni relocating to my city with recommendations for housing, networking opportunities, etc.
- Become an IU Day ambassador
- As an IU Day ambassador, you will help spread the word about IU Day on social media and participate wherever you are in the day-of celebration and activities
