Congratulations to George Suttles, M.A.’13, for receiving our 2021 Distinguished Alumni Award, an award that recognizes significant achievement in the fields of philanthropic research, practice, and academic study.
Suttles is the executive director of Commonfund Institute, the education and research arm of Commonfund designed to partner with and support nonprofit institutional investors. He leads the organization’s educational, market research, and professional development activities and is a member of their Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Office.
Suttles’s previous experience includes the John A. Hartford Foundation and U.S. Trust/Bank of America. He’s currently an adjunct faculty member at New York University School of Professional Studies and is a member of numerous nonprofit boards.
In addition to earning his master’s at the IU Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, he received his undergraduate degree from Wesleyan University and a Master of Public Administration from Baruch CUNY School of Public Affairs.
In addition to celebrating this incredible accomplishment, we look forward to welcoming him back this spring as the May 2022 commencement speaker.
