The Patterson Foundation has selected Ericia Henry, a student at the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at IU Indianapolis, as the newest member of its Fellows Program. Henry, who will earn her Master of Arts in Philanthropic Studies degree from the school in May 2024, is from New Albany, Ind., and earned her bachelor's degree from Indiana University Southeast. She will contribute to several of The Patterson Foundation’s 17 current initiatives that strengthen people, organizations and communities in multiple roles to gain experience and learn innovative philanthropic principles.

As the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted services and programs that support women and girls all over the world, women’s and girls’ organizations in the U.S. received $8.8 billion in charitable giving in 2020—a 9.2% increase over 2019, according to the Women & Girls Index (WGI). But giving to these organizations still represented less than 2% of all U.S. giving that year.
