Biography

Marc Hardy, Ph.D., like many students at IUPUI, is a first-generation college graduate, so he understands the challenges of students who are the first in their family to attend college.

He received his master’s and Ph.D. from the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy. During his life he has had many careers, including serving as the executive director of a nuclear disarmament foundation for seven years, the president of nonprofit two state associations, a professor at both IUPUI and Butler University, and the director of nonprofit certificate programs at the University of Notre Dame for 13 years.

He has created a philanthropic leadership concept titled “Sharing Fire,” which is the act of giving people the tools and knowledge to create a better life. And that is what his focus is as a professor.
