Biography
Perry Hines is the President & CEO of Wheeler Mission. Perry joined Wheeler in 2021 as the Chief Development Officer before assuming his new role on March 22, 2023. Perry replaced Rick Alvis who served Wheeler Mission faithfully for nearly 33 years. He comes to this position with a wide depth and breadth of experience in both for profit and nonprofit organizations around the country. He is a former C-suite marketing executive with decades-long expertise honed in the halls of some of America’s premier companies.
He is a first generation college graduate, earning his B.A. in journalism from Western Kentucky University and his MBA from the University of Minnesota. He received his and Certificate of Fund Raising Management (CFRM) from the Indiana University School of Philanthropy in 2019 and is a graduate of the Stanford University Rock Center for Corporate Governance. He has a distinguished record of service to local and national boards of directors including the Indianapolis Urban League, Indiana Humanities, Madame Walker Theatre Center, Indianapolis Zoo, Outreach, Inc., Boy Scouts of America Crossroads Council, Central Indiana Youth for Christ, Visit Indy’s Music Crossroads, Indiana Youth Institute, University of Minnesota Alumni Association, Western Kentucky University President’s Advisory Board and Western Kentucky University Research Innovation Center. He is currently a board member of non-profit Indiana University Lilly School of Philanthropy and sits on corporate boards Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis (FHLBI) and Horace Mann Educators Corporation (NYSE: HMN). He lives in Carmel with his wife, Lisa, and enjoys mentoring inner-city youth, traveling and spending time with his two sons and grandchildren. He has been a servant leader at Northview Church for more than 25 years.
