Charles Stewart Mott Chair in Community Foundations
The IU Lilly Family School of Philanthropy seeks an intellectual leader to advance knowledge of community philanthropy by filling the Charles Stewart Mott Chair in Community Foundations. This endowed chair will be active in the area of Community Philanthropy in helping build communities and civil society locally, nationally, and globally. The search process will begin in fall 2016 and continue until the chair is appointed. Ideally, the chair will begin the appointment by fall 2017. The search is open to rank and the field of appointment will be philanthropic studies.
Candidates are expected to teach and mentor students in the graduate and undergraduate programs for 50 percent of their time. In addition, they will conduct research, publish in the field, and provide service to the school, campus, and the field for the other 50 percent time commitment. A Ph.D. and significant relevant work in this field is required. Teaching and research experience in philanthropic studies (broadly defined) or related area of interest is strongly preferred. The chair will work with an advisory committee comprised of academics and practitioners, who are leaders in this field, to help develop a research and teaching agenda for the chair’s work in this space.

Managing Editor, Giving USA
The Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy seeks an exceptional colleague to join the research department of the first school of its kind. The incumbent will develop all aspects of the research for the annual Giving USA report on philanthropy for the United States, including data collection, analysis, writing, proofreading, review, and interpretation. Implement enhancements to Giving USA as determined by the sponsor and the Giving USA Advisory Council on Methodology (external). Coordinate content of the report’s chapters with the sponsor and the Editorial Review Board. Prepare up to three reports on varied topics selected by the sponsors during the year. Assist with fundraising to support the work of the project. Will also cultivate, build, and maintain relationships with new partners to expand and support the School’s mission of research and education.

Part-time Blog Content Coordinator
Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy’s marketing and communications team is seeking a savvy wordsmith to join our blogging team. This is a part time position Monday through Friday, approximately 20 hours/week, days and hours can vary. Candidates must have a knack and love for writing, experience in blogging to achieve business goals, and an understanding of the philanthropic sector is preferable. The coordinator will be expected to sustain and develop the school's voice across all blog content. If you are great at telling stories, have a knack for knowing what others will find interesting and shareable, and you turn ideas into high-quality prose in a matter of minutes, then this position may be the opportunity for you.
- With input from the Marketing and Communications Team, create and manage a blog editorial content calendar (with plans to have approximately 3-5 posts/week)
- Responsible for assisting with content curation:
- Write original blog posts on a wide range of topics
- Interview faculty, students etc. to translate their research, internship experiences etc. into engaging stories suitable for a blog
- Provide feedback to other contributors, and edit other writers’ content
- Generate brand awareness through content with an emphasis on thought leadership
- Be aware of breaking news in the philanthropic sector and react quickly to incorporate into our blog content
- B.A. in Journalism, Marketing, Communications or similar degree is preferred
- Applicants should possess knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
- Deadline-driven, detail-oriented, and organized
- Blogging experience
- Knowledge of Google Analytics is a plus
- Must be a self-starter who is comfortable interacting with a wide variety of people

Associate Director of Online Programs
The IU Lilly Family School of Philanthropy seeks a colleague for the position of Associate Director of Online Programs. This position will lead the initiatives to fully develop the recruitment and student services aspects of the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy’s online programs. The Associate Director of Online Programs is responsible for online admissions and online student support and academic advising. Independently exercising decision making authority to achieve student recruitment, outreach, and enrollment objectives for the on-line programs. Take action consistent with the goals and timetables, interpret academic policies and exercise authority and independent judgment. Design and implement coordinated recruitment process for national and international students as well as, develop and implement an integrated strategic plan to grow the School’s underrepresented student population. Manages on-line program recruitment resources and budget. In collaboration with the Center for Teaching and Learning, the incumbent will provide support and assistance to faculty who will be teaching online courses, accessibility resources and any other university online teaching resources, so that the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy online courses are updated, accessible and current for each teaching semester.
