LaDaniel “Danny” Gatling II is a higher education development professional with significant experience in the financial services industry and 20 years of executive development experience in higher education.
In 2018, Gatling became the vice president for institutional advancement at Bennett College in Greensboro, NC. As vice president, Gatling is a member of the senior leadership team and works closely with the president, Board of Trustees, academic deans, faculty and alumnae. He assists in supporting the mission of the college through the successful operation of a comprehensive fundraising program that focuses on increasing major gifts, annual and planned giving, establishing the foundation for new campaigns, and furthering outreach to alumnae worldwide.
Prior to joining Bennett, Gatling served as the director of development for constituent programs at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, assistant dean for development at Elon University School of Law, associate vice president for philanthropy at Guilford College, and the director of development for the School of Agriculture at North Carolina A&T State University.
Gatling is a native of Chesapeake, VA. He earned a bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering from North Carolina A&T State University and a master’s degree in philanthropic studies from Indiana University.
Gatling is active in the Greensboro community and has served on the boards of the Salvation Army of Greensboro, Triad Stage and Bell House. He currently serves on the boards of Downtown Greensboro, Inc., East Greensboro Now and Well Springs Retirement Community, Inc.
Gatling is member of several professional and service organizations, including the Association of Fundraising Professionals, the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) and the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
