The Certificate in Fund Raising Management Scholarship

The Certificate in Fund Raising Management Scholarship supported by the Fidelity Charitable Trustees’ Initiative will award 15 scholarships for the Certificate in Fund Raising Management (CFRM) plus $1,500 grants to small to mid-size organizations located in Alabama, Arizona, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, Tennessee, or Texas.

How to apply

Applicants must:

  • Be a full-time employee of a nonprofit organization.
  • Have fundraising responsibilities in their position.
  • Have not taken a CFRM course in the past.

Organizations must:

  • Be located in Alabama, Arizona, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, Tennessee, or Texas.
  • Have 501c3 status or be fiscally sponsored by a 501c3. • Have an annual budget between $250,000 and $5,000,000. Preference will be given to organizations with an annual operating budget of $250,000 - $1,000,000.
  • Have a full-time executive director.
  • Have a mission-aligned focus on Education, Health, Human Services, Community Development, Human and Civil Rights, or Youth Development.

The Fidelity Charitable Trustees’ Initiative will cover 95% of the program cost, and the scholarship recipients will pay a $300 registration fee, due on December 8, 2023. Upon successful completion of the CFRM and final program evaluation, a $1,500 grant from the Fidelity Charitable Trustees’ Initiative will be awarded to the participant’s 501c3 employer.

A registration and payment link will be provided to scholarship recipients upon award notification.

All Selected program participants will enroll in Principles & Techniques of Fundraising plus three of the following four courses: Developing Annual Sustainability, Developing Major Gifts, Managing the Capital Campaign, or Planned Giving: Getting the Proper Start. Applications are due by Friday, October 27, 2023, by noon ET. Late applications will not be accepted.

How long should my responses be to open-ended questions?

We do not want this application to be a burden, but we do want to get to know you and your organization. Feel free to use both qualitative and/or quantitative data in your responses and be as concise as possible.

Can I save my application and finish it later?

Yes, you may save your application to complete at a later time. You will receive a link via email that you will need to access your application. Please check your junk folder if you do not see the message in your inbox. Be sure to keep a copy of the link until your application is submitted, because, without it, you will not be able to access your in-progress application.

Can I revise my application after I press submit?

Once an application is submitted, no changes can be made. Please review your application carefully before clicking submit.

Can I submit more than one application?

Each applicant is limited to one application. The first application submitted will be evaluated; subsequent applications will not be considered.

Can more than one person from my organization apply?

Yes, more than one person from an organization may apply.

Can board members apply?

No, only full-time staff members are eligible to apply.

Can I apply if I’ve already taken a CFRM course?

No, this scholarship is for those who have not taken a CFRM course.
