Purposeful Boards, Powerful Fundraising

Fundraising success depends on organization-wide efforts from the leadership of the board to the dedication of front-line staff. This course focuses on the role the board plays in fundraising and how to best structure the organization to support this role. Board members and staff will work collaboratively to develop an action plan to improve the culture of philanthropy in your organization, improve board recruitment and training, and ensure the organization has a solid case for support. This course is specifically designed for one staff person and one board member to attend together.

Course Details

Virtual Class Schedule
The virtual class is four days in length and hosted using the Zoom platform.

Day 1 (May 18, 2022):   2 p.m - 5 p.m. Eastern time
Day 2 (May 25, 2022):   2 p.m - 5 p.m. Eastern time
Day 3 (June 1, 2022):    2 p.m - 5 p.m. Eastern time
Day 4 (June 8, 2022):    2 p.m - 5 p.m. Eastern time

Full participation in many of The Fund Raising School’s courses fulfill education point requirements for Category 1.B-Education of the CFRE International application for initial certification and/or recertification.

Purposeful Boards, Powerful Fundraising qualifies for 12 CFRE Education Points/Hours.

IMPORTANT REGISTRATION NOTE: Tuition payment is due before the class begins and may be paid by credit card, check, or purchase order. All cancellations and transfers are subject to an administrative fee of $275.

As a result of this class, participants will:

  • Communicate and demonstrate board and staff responsibilities to the organization
  • Understand what needs to be prepared and in place for board members
  • Review and adapt tools and strategies to recruit, train, mentor, and redirect board members to support overall fundraising
